Riviera Maya Revealed is an online source of news, reviews, information, and recommendations for the Riviera Maya, Mexico, edited and published by Two Gringos Media.
Jeff was born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin and has lived the majority of his life surviving winters in the cold and snowy region of the U.S. often referred to as the Frozen Tundra. While he had a couple of stints living in Northern California and the Colorado Western Slope, he returned to Wisconsin each time to be close to family.
Along with 20+ years in global corporate information technology and a period in the restaurant and hospitality industry, Jeff has owned and operated a handful of businesses including woodworking, website development, retail computer sales, and a brewery.
Tiring of the often sub-zero Wisconsin winter temperatures, and with much of his family dispersing to various regions of the U.S., Jeff has been begun longing to permanently relocate to an area with a warm climate, rich culture, and excellent quality of life. He and Susan have now set a goal of relocating to the Riviera Maya within a couple of years.
Jeff has traveled to Mexico since 2011, most often to the Riviera Maya. Accommodations during his travels ranged anywhere from a room in the home of a local to private apartments to 5-star resorts. Jeff insists that staying with and as a local is what he enjoys most versus staying at the large resorts.
Through his travels, research, and information gleaned from locals, he and Susan decided to share this wealth of knowledge they have and are gathering with the many others who visit, live or wish to live in the Riviera Maya. And so the Riviera Maya Revealed news, reviews, information, and recommendations website was born as a medium to disseminate this knowledge.
Susan was born in Michigan, has lived in seven U.S. states, and spent much of her childhood living on a small island in Micronesia. Her many experiences and extensive travel, as a child and now as an adult, have created an adventurous spirit in Susan and a love of diverse cultures and people.
Susan has a great love of learning and obtained her bachelor of science degree in elementary education as well as a master’s degree. She also is endorsed in special education and the teaching of English language learners. Teaching is not only a career for Susan but one of her great passions in life. Susan has been teaching for over twenty years, instructing in regular education, special education, and English language learner classrooms.
In her quest to continue learning and growing as a well-rounded and compassionate individual, Susan has done much research on the Riviera Maya and its rich culture, beautiful environment, and the warm and friendly people who inhabit the region. She has traveled to the region several times in recent years, enjoying the warm climate, ocean, rich culture and the wonderful people she’s met in her adventures.
Susan and Jeff hope to relocate to the Riviera Maya area within the next couple of years. Susan’s goal is to become an English teacher there and continue teaching as long as possible in Riviera Maya’s tropical paradise.
As Susan and Jeff become more familiar with the Riviera Maya through their travels and research, they decided to start this website to share their knowledge and insights into this beautiful area of the world. Their objective is to inform others of the great benefits to visiting and/or living in the Riviera Maya and how these experiences can lead to great enrichment and fulfilling life.
